PFA BULLETIN MARCH 2022
The PFA Bulletin goes to all PFA Member Clubs and Leagues after every Board meeting.
The Board met on 8th March 2022 by Zoom. All Board Members were present except Giselle Whiteaker. Membership of the Board is available on the PFA website.
The draft of the plan was approved by the Board. It will now be distributed to Member Clubs and Leagues for information. The Board is looking for volunteers to serve on several Advisory Committees.
National Championships - Easter Carnival
The decision was made to go ahead with the competition. The prospective competitors have been sent an email requesting proof of vaccination or agreement to conduct a RAT at the start of the competition. This is to be done by 3rd of April 2022. Given that several of the Divisions are oversubscribed it would be good if you could advise your Club's licensed players about this deadline. Each State League has concluded their shooting competitions. The qualifying winners will play off at the Nationals at Easter.
Communications Grants to Leagues
The treasurer reported that we have received acquittals from all Leagues (for the $1000 grant given to them last year) except NSW and VIC.
We have received two nominations for representing Australia in the World Doubles and Singles in Denmark in May 2022. These are currently being finalised.
We are also seeking expressions of interest from Clubs or Leagues to host the return of the Interstate Challenge in August this year. An email went out to all Members recently. EOIs need to be submitted by the 14th of April 2022.
Coaches Commission resignations
JF Veyssiere has resigned as the Chair of the Coaches Commission due to a heavy workload in his business and duties in rugby coaching.
Also, Adrian Clements has resigned as State Coach of South Australia. Adrian has had a long and distinguished career in Petanque both as a player and coach. He will be missed.
The Umpires Commission will be conducting Umpire Training sessions in Adelaide on Wednesday 13th April 2022 before the Nationals. If anyone in your Club is interested please get them to contact their State Umpire Manager.
