UPDATE ON THE CAULFIELD INTERNATIONAL OPEN DOUBLES 2019

In response to feedback, the International Open Tournament at Caulfield Park on 9-10 February 2019 has been amended:

1. A Shooting contest held over the 2 days. Day 1 is Qualifying and will be held after the Main Tournament Qualifying Rounds, about 4.30-5.00pm. Due to time restrictions, we will only take 20 entries with an allocation of places to the International teams. Email Andre or Colin if eligible and interested. Note: Must have scored 25 points in a State Champion...ship. Max. one entry per team. Finals on Day 2 for Top 4. Prize money available.

2.No longer having a separate Women's Competition and seek to make this a true Open Event and welcome all types of teams to compete. We are confident of attracting Mixed and Mens teams from Oceania countries, Cambodia, and Malaysia. Attractive Sponsor cash prizes will be available for the Top 3 Womens' only teams based on ranking.

Prize money has been boosted and trophies as are aiming to attract competitive players and provide a true international experience for all. The Club considers the Tournament would benefit from Interstate teams attending. With the Oceania Tournament set down to be held in Australia in early October 2019, it is a great opportunity for Australian players to compete against the very players who are front runners for selection for Oceania teams.

As an incentive, the club is offering a 50% subsidy for 3 night accommodation at the Cosmopolitan Hotel at 2 Carlisle Street St Kilda to 10 interstate doubles teams who register for the Competition. To qualify, The International teams are also staying at the same Hotel and provides a great opportunity to socialise with the International players. A special rate has been finalised of $139PN for spacious Deluxe Doubles rooms at the Hotel and so those who get in early with booking will get 50% off. The Top Prize is $1800 for the winning Open team plus quality trophies and there are generous prizes for places 2-16 and the Consolante. As stated, the Top 3 ranked Womens' teams will receive a Sponsor's cash prize.The Event will provide a great lead in to the National Titles at Easter at the same venue.
